Registering and signing in with your Github account
Github provides a faster way for you to register without waiting for an activation email.
If you didn't sign up with Github you can still connect your Github account at any time by selecting "Edit profile" from the "Account" menu in the top-right of your Loco dashboard. When the profile edit modal opens, just click the blue "Connect" button and we'll do the rest.
Why connect to Github?
- You'll be able to log in with your Github account in future without entering your Loco password.
- Your team mates will be be able to see your Github profile picture when they interact with you.
- We'll be adding some cool Git integrations in future, so watch this space!
Email and password
When you register via your Github account we will store the email address they provide to us, but you can change it later. This makes registration faster, because we rely on the fact that Github have already verified your address is real.
We will also ask you to set a Loco password in case for any reason your Github account becomes unavailable. Even though we store this as a strong hash, we still recommend you choose a password that is different to your Github password.
You can edit your email address and password at any time by selecting "Personal profile" from the "Account" menu in the top-right of your dashboard.
