Loco is provided and operated by White Interactive Ltd (the "Company", "we"). You can contact Loco via the contact page
Using the Services or being provided with access to the Services does not affiliate you with Loco or the Company and does not imply any kind of partnership, contract or financial agreement.
The Company offers four levels of service free of charge. (The "Free Services")
- Access to the view the public website at localise.biz; (the "Site")
- Usage of functionality in private areas of the Site that are secured by a password; (your "Account")
- Usage of the Loco API (the "API") secured by a separate password;
- Usage of some functionality without an Account, (converter tool, converter API & online editor)
The Free Services are provided completely free of charge, but completely without warranty. No guarantees are made as to any level of service and you use the Free Services at your own risk. The Company cannot and will not be liable for any losses or damages arising directly or indirectly by your usage of the Free Services.
You may not sell the use of the Free Services to other parties or use the Free Services in a manner that competes with the Company's provision of any of the Services. This includes, but is not limited to using the Loco API to provide a competing service or charging others to access any of the Services.
If you disagree with any of these Terms you must stop using the Free Services.
If you need further assurances, or would like a service level agreement, or wish to amend any of the conditions of these Terms; please contact us about upgrading to a Premium Account.
The Company may offer additional or extended services to individual customers ("Premium Services", or "Premium Account") which may carry their own conditions in addition to or overriding these Terms.
The conditions and restrictions in these Terms are intended to govern usage of the Free Services in the absence of an overriding Premium Service Agreement, but in the case of any ambiguity or omissions these Terms shall apply to all the Services.
Your data and your rights
Content you enter or upload remains the copyright of its creator. We won't redistribute your Content, and claim no rights or ownership over it.
We may inspect your Data in order to improve our software or troubleshoot any problems or defects we identify via your use of the Services. We will not share any of this data with any third parties.
We may use Content entered into Loco to 'teach' our software to automatically translate text into foreign languages, but this does not affect your rights. Only sentence segments up to ten words will be used and only text that users have searched for will be presented to them in their translated form. These limits mean that only common phrases from your Content will be presented to other Loco users; i.e. Legal documents and creative works should be automatically excluded and will not be presented for the use of others.
Loco does not include a permanent backup service and we make no promise to store your Data indefinitely. We will do our best to ensure the integrity and availability of your Data for as long as is commercially reasonable, but this is a courtesy and not a guarantee. The Company cannot and will not be liable for loss of your data under any circumstances.
Our primary servers storing most of the Data are hosted with Linode. Additionally your file uploads are stored on Amazon Simple Storage Service once they have passed through our primary servers. The Company cannot pass on its service level agreements with these providers on to Loco users, but in all the years the Company has been a customer of these providers, we have experienced no accidental data loss and only the most occasional of outages.
Our primary servers are backed up daily, but any data loss that occurs between backups is not recoverable. We will only restore the system from a backup in the case of disaster, not to recover data lost from one specific account.
Please DO NOT enter or upload any secret, private or otherwise sensitive Content into Loco. If you are in any doubt as to the risk involved in your doing so, please do not use the Services and contact us about upgrading to a Premium Account.
Using the Services in production
We'd very much like you to use Loco for real projects, but please note that the Services carry some restrictions in this regard.
The Services including access to uploaded files and the API are provided solely for your own use. You may use Loco to access, download or otherwise retrieve your Content, but you may not direct public Web traffic to our servers via your own visitors or software users.
If you direct public Web traffic to a resource on any of our servers the Company incurs costs from the provider of that resource and we may have to remove or block access to it to avoid further costs.
If you need to access resources on our servers in production, please contact us about upgrading to a Premium Account with the required allowances and/or connect your own Amazon account.
Please also read our help article on image and file uploads.
Account access and security
You are responsible for safeguarding any passwords that you use to access your Account and for any activity or actions performed while logged in to your Account.
The Services do not currently operate over an encrypted web connection (this is for financial reasons and may change in future). By continuing to access the Services you are accepting that any Data you submit to the Services including your password is insecure and could be intercepted by a third party.
The API is accessed by an API 'key' available from the Loco interface when logged in to your Account. This key is considered to be a password and subject to the same conditions as your primary Account password as outlined here. During each individual request to the API you are considered to be 'logged in'.
The Company cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from a third party accessing or performing actions while logged in to your Account.
If you have a Loco Account we store your name and email address for the purposes of the core functionality of the Services. We won't share, sell, or otherwise redistribute your details.
Your name and email address are only visible to the Company and to any further users added to your Account by account administrators. If you are added to an account by a person who should not have access to your details, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
For the Free Services that can be accessed without a Loco Account, we collect no personally identifiable data.
Your IP address is temporarily stored in our server logs as with most websites you visit. We don't do anything with this data.
None of the analytics data that is stored by Google contains any personally identifiable information.

None of these cookies need to persist after you log out of your Account or leave the Site (they are 'session cookies') and should be deleted by your web browser when it exits.
The above cookies are mandatory, but not intended to invade your privacy or track you. By continuing to use the Services you permit the above cookies to be set.
Additionally Google Analytics sets first party cookies on behalf of our domain. These cookies persist for up to two years if you don't clear them from your browser. By viewing this page, Google Analytics cookies will have already been set on your computer. You can delete them, but if you continue to access the Site they will be set again.

In some places Loco pages may include content from or link to third parties which may also set third party cookies. Currently this is limited to Facebook and Twitter and are subject to their providers' own privacy policies.
The Company cannot and will not be liable for any losses or damages arising from the actions of these third parties.
If you are worried about the presence of these third parties on the Site, we recommend you block third party cookies in your browser settings or install a browser add-on to block the buttons altogether.
Blocking these third party services will not affect the core functionality of Loco or your Account, and you are free to do so under these Terms. Blocking these third parties may mean you're not able to use them for logging in to Loco and you will be limited to email-based Loco registration.
Single sign-on services
Loco uses the Facebook and Twitter APIs to provide entirely optional 'Single sign-on' (SSO) functionality.
Using these SSO service providers via Loco requires you grant us access to the account you hold with the service provider. We will only retrieve and store the data required to provide you with this service, which includes your name, email address, profile picture and lanaguge preferences.
We may also store the access credentials for a given service you've granted. You can revoke these at any time via the service provider and also via your Loco Account dashboard. We do not routinely use these access credentials to analyse or profile you or your activity.
