How to add a Loco project and start translating
If you need to add a new project, click the "New project" button with the :add icon: from your main dashboard. After entering the details below, click the "Start project" button and you'll be taken to your project's management view.
Project properties
Project name
Give your project any name you like, you can change it later if you need. Look out for the :cog icon: to open the properties again.Description
You might want to add something descriptive like "European website relaunch for Acme Ltd, 2012". This is optional, but may be useful once you have lots of projects in your dashboard accessed by different people.Source locale
This is the native language that you'll be translating from. By default this is set to the language of your Loco account, but it's common to use English as a source language even if you're not in an English-speaking region. You can change your source language at any time, but it's convenient to set it from the start if possible. Read about project settings and modifying locales.Project team
You will automatically be added to your new project, but if your account has additional team members you can choose at this stage who is added to the new project. This is done by copying project roles from a previous project, so this option only exists if you have existing project teams.
Next steps
Once your project is created it will only have one locale, which isn't much good for translating, so the first thing you'll probably want to do is add one or more locales.
Your new project won't have anything to translate yet either. Before you can translate anything you'll need to add some assets.
