Unresolved issues

Unresolved support requests for the Loco WordPress plugin

All support questions are read. If your question hasn't been answered or you're not satisfied with the answer, it will be for one of the following reasons:

  • Emailed
    Personal support over email is only available for the main Loco website. Emails about our plugin won't be answered. By asking your question in the support forum, other WordPress users with similar problems may benefit from the answer.

  • Translations not displaying
    We don't provide support for problems where translations do not "show up" on your website. There are too many people asking for help with display issues and too many possible causes that are beyond our control. The root cause is almost always unrelated to our plugin, so unless your post clearly demonstrates otherwise we won't be investigating your case.

  • Unrelated to our plugin
    If your issue doesn't appear to be directly related to our plugin then we probably can't help you with it. The problem might be due to another part of your WordPress or your server. We've been blamed for all sorts of completely unrelated problems and we won't waste our time arguing that it can't possibly be due to our plugin.

  • Duplicate
    Duplicate questions (especially these FAQs) may not be answered again, so please try to solve your problem from the hundreds of existing threads in the forum before asking the same thing again. Even if the answer you find doesn't help you, it may be the only answer available.

  • Vague or confusing
    Reports that don't contain any useful or coherent information about a problem may not be answered. We won't keep asking you questions until we guess what's wrong. The onus is on you to explain clearly what is wrong and how to reproduce the issue. See our tips on providing good information.

  • No download link
    We'll try to answer questions about specific themes or plugins as long as they're open source and you've provided a link to them. Posts without this basic piece of information you won't receive a reply.

  • Too technical
    If we've answered your question with a technical solution you can't implement (e.g. editing code, configuring a server) we may not be able to reduce it to anything simpler. We can't offer general technical help with coding or system administration.

  • Incompatible
    If we've told you that Loco Translate isn't compatible with your theme, there will be no immediate solution. We might be able to tell you why it's not compatible, but that doesn't mean there's a fix unless you are the author.

  • Commercial
    We don't provide support for commercial themes and plugins, please ask your vendor for help and don't post closed source software in the forum. Aside from breaking the terms of your license, there's also a principle at stake: If a vendor wants the open source community to provide free help to their customers, they can achieve that by providing free, open source code.

  • Not in English
    We can only answer questions posted in English. (ironic, I know). Google-translated questions rarely make any sense, so these may not be answered either. Sorry.

  • Rude
    It's rare, but not rare enough. Most posters are polite and respectful. Rude, insulting or demanding posts will be ignored.
